August 15 more on taxi trouble or blessing in Dubai.

Well, what is it about a taxi that brings out the best and worst in people?

We had Mr. Ammar bin Tamim the acting CEO of the Dubai taxi Agency join us on air.

Interesting conversation.

3250 cars in the fleet.

Each car takes approximately 22 fares a day.

The company expects 300 dirhams from the driver and if there is more cash to be had the driver keeps 35%.

Drivers are not allowed to refuse fares!

800-9090 is the number to call to complain.

Drivers are trained for 2-3 months before they get behind the wheel!

So why are people not happy?

Some callers suggest we have unrealistic expectations!

Maybe traffic is too much?

Maybe the population is too high for the current 5 fleets in Dubai?

But who is talking to the driver?

More to come.
