Roush Performance has launched the 2018 Roush Super Duty F-250, an aggressive off-road truck that adds upgraded, raised suspension, beefier wheels with all-terrain tires and other features to the Ford base model. Roush says it's the first time it has entered the Super Duty market.
Its distinctive looks start with an aggressive new grille with integrated accent lighting and the Roush logo. There's also a front-bumper cover — Roush says it retains compatability with Ford's adaptive cruise control — and custom body-color fender flares, also with integrated accent lighting, to add to the aggressive look. Diesel versions get a stainless steel DPF-Back exhaust system with large dual tips for optimal sound.
Is this going to be cool?
he Rolls-Royce Cullinan is coming soon. The British automaker has made copious effort trying to keep the coming Cullinanfrom being considered just a crossover or SUV. The carmaker calls it an All-Terrain High-Sided Bodied Vehicle, and a feature as banal as a tailgate has been billed as a "luxuriously comfortable viewing platform." Yet when Rolls-Royce took a prototype Cullinan for testing in the Dubai dunes, they recorded their Phantom-based SUV ripping up the sand in ways you'd expect from a 30-year-old Chevrolet Blazer.
As the Nürburgring became to cars, the dunes outside of Dubai have turned into a testing venue as useful as they are photogenic. Rolls-Royce's trip there follows a list of other luxury SUV makers, including Range Rover, Bentley, and most recently, Lamborghini.

A little while ago we wrote about the Viper factory being recommissioned into a museum, that will hold the historic cars originally evicted from the Walter P. Chrysler museum. Now, what happened to the last Viper that factory built? It's getting auctioned off, in good company.
Barrett-Jackson is auctioning the last 2017 Viper built, together with a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon said to be the last Demon produced. Crossing the block in June in Uncasville, Connecticut, the pair of cars produces a total of 1,485 horsepower, of which the Demon accounts for 840 horses and the Viper for 645. Both are finished in bright Viper Red, and yes, the Demon will include the optional passenger seat.
Escalade gives GM 1billion in profit???? Escalade v navigator
In Cadillac and Lincoln showrooms, the battle of the behemoths is on.
General Motors is stepping up its defense of the Escalade SUV, a cash cow for Cadillac and the company, by offering $10,000 discounts to some current customers to keep them from straying to Ford Motor Co.'s hot-selling new Lincoln Navigator.
The nationwide $10,000 deal applies to lessees of all 2016 model Escalades, and owners are being offered a $7,500 discount. The promotion runs through May 31, according to a memo GM sent dealers that was obtained by Bloomberg News. Jim Cain, a GM spokesman, confirmed its authenticity, calling it "an exclusive private offer" designed to "keep people in the family."
GM has ample reason to keep Escalade buyers coming back. The big SUV generates outsize profit from relatively modest sales: Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas has estimated it produces about $1 billion in annual profit, contributing to a $2 billion earnings advantage GM has across all its large SUVs over Ford.
"GM is trying to keep Escalade buyers out of Navigators, for sure," Jeff Schuster, an analyst at LMC Automotive, said by phone. "You've got a fresh Navigator and you've got an Escalade that is not new and is starting to age."
MQB modular achitecture
The new Focus compact, which rolled out here and in the central Chinese city of Chongqing last week, debuts Ford's global version of Volkswagen's much acclaimed MQB modular architecture, a central element of Ford's aim to achieve $4 billion in engineering efficiencies over the next five years.
The unibody front-wheel-drive architecture (it has no snappy name, yet) is the first of Ford's five new global platforms — and arguably the most important after the body-on-frame truck architecture. Ford is developing them to enable savings and cut development time for new models by up to 20 percent, the company announced in March.
The new architecture underpinning the Focus is flexible enough to encompass subcompacts such as the Fiesta as well as midsize models and crossovers such as the Edge and Escape, Bakaj told Automotive News at the global launch of the Focus here. "It's very scalable," said Bakaj (pronounced ba-KAI').
The U.S. version of the next- generation Focus will be sourced from China in the second half of 2019, Ford said. It's unclear what body styles will come stateside.
