The Perfect Book Store.

Does a perfect book store really exist?

Narain Jashanmal and I had this conversation on Nightline and we hope that you will join in the conversation on Facebook, www.facebook.com/theperfectbookstore.

Here is the podcast.

Dubai reviewed by you

We start off the week with Voiladubai.ae and the reviews you want to hear as made by you!

First up though was my trip to the Wadi Adventure in Al Ain.

Lots of cool stuff to listen to and you need to start reviewing!

Books Live!

Narain Jashanmal joins me to talk about publishing and 2 very cool Dubai projects.

The raunchier the better!

So how far does Time, Rolling Stone and the rest of the print magazine industry need to go to sell a magazine?

A mother with her breast exposed and her son having a feed, at age 3, is that taking things a bit too far?

Or are we now so accustom to seeing flesh that we need more extreme cover art to attract us to the magazine rack?

How far are our magazine publishers willing to go to sell their rags?

Narain Jashanmal, GM of Jashanmal Books, joins me to look at the issue.

Comic Books Rule!

How do we get more people to dive into reading?

Narain Jashanmal of Jashanmal Books things that publishers and retailers have a thing or 2 to learn from the comic book industry!

Narain Jashanmal talks Publishing

Is the publishing industry as we know it today dead? Well Narain sure does show us the future and it is pretty wow!

The book is dead!

Is the West Politically unaware?

The west, how often do we point our fingers in the direction of the west when there are issues? Narain Jashanmal and I usually sit and talk about some cool mags and the ideas in them, this week I am alone. I opened the phone to chat about global ideas and awareness fueled by the 90th anniversary of Foreign Affairs and the 5th anniversary of Monocle. The reality is we are pretty unaware! And it is our fault.

Off the Rack talks Foreign Affairs

We took a nice tour through some journals on the academic bend.

I really do love Foreign Affairs!

Off the Rack, Off the Radar

Narain Jashanmal and I had a wonderful conversation about magazines that are just a little different.

We looked at Brown Book from here in the UAE, Dumbo Feather from Australia and Print fromt he USA.

All three of these publications are just amazing in their own way and really harken back to that time no so long ago when reading, in hard copy, was an experience.

Give the podcast a listen.

Off The Rack Business Essentials!

My big complaint about education is that it is out of touch. Great textbooks that are wonderful historical documents BUT they are not really good at looking at what is happening right now! This show, with Narain Jashanmal, is a great conversation about some essential reading off the magazine rack. This is a free education! Here is the podcast.

Off the Rack

Jashanmal Books has provided us with a bunch of magazines that we go through each week and try to figure out what is going on in the world! Narain Jashanmal joins me to unpack the news.

Narain Jashanmal and his Refuge

Narain joins me to talk about him revisiting REFUGE his 1st film that he pulled together in 2001. Here is the link to Narain's blog http://narainjashanmal.com/blog/text/12978992
