What do you think of the new flagship SUV from Audi, the Q8? It's set to launch here in the region Autumn this year.

On June 24, 2018, the UAE’s first-ever car manufacturer, Jannarelly, will become the first emirates-based enterprise to take part in the USA’s second oldest motorsport event, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) in Colorado, which this year celebrates its 102nd anniversary.
FROM THE RELEASE
In a truly home-grown endeavour, a specially developed version of Jannarelly’s Design-1 sportscar will feature as the honoured ‘Official Safety Car’ (OSC); designed, developed and operated by a team co-created with fellow Dubai-based automotive pioneer, PureDrive Automotive, and supported by Pirelli.

This is the Kahn Design Vengeance Green Superhero. A coach-built coupe based on the Aston Martin DB9. The bodywork is heavily re-sculpted and even the wheels are different front and rear. The car is said to be inspired by Astons of the 1980s and 90s. Would you have this in your collection?

FORD Mustang GT500 2019 is live!

Ford's monster Mustang, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, has been partly revealed by an official image showing off the top of the sports car. And man, does it look mean. The huge vent looks to be almost half the length of the hood, with a whole series of slats to channel hot air out of the engine bay. The vent is also slightly wider than the racing stripes that run the full length of the car. It's also mounted in what looks like quite a tall hood cowl.

Peugeot 508 is looking the part!
Peugeot Design Director Gilles Vidal, 45, has been crafting the look and feel of the French brand's cars for nearly a decade. His latest creation is the new 508, which he calls a "two-and-a-half-box" fastback. He explained what that means and shared insights on some of the car's key interior features during a chat with Automotive News Europe Correspondent Peter Sigal.
Nice interview!
Describe Peugeot's new design language, as seen in the 3008, 5008 and new 508.
We want to create exciting looking cars with strong personality, but still manage to keep them obvious in terms of visual decoding. We think that when you look at the car from 100 meters, the shape should be super obvious and super simple. When you get closer, say 10 meters, then you start to see more details and gain a second level of understanding. Then you get even closer and you see all the high-tech details in the lights, for example.
Subaru Ascent

The Ascent, set to land in Subaru stores in late June, is the largest model the automaker has ever designed. It is expected to have a sales volume of around 60,000 units per year in the U.S.
When it came to the Ascent's exterior design, Yasunori Kumagai, Ascent project general manager, said that a clear focus for the new nameplate was "to have a sense of scale and presence to exceed the Outback."
The crossover can seat seven or eight occupants, depending on the trim. The base trim comes with a second-row bench seat, while Premium and Limited trims offer optional captain's chairs. The range-topping Touring comes only with captain's chairs.

Elon Musk did it not the others are going to build the TESLA Rival!

Daimler will invest 500 million euros ($589 million) in Hambach, France, to start producing a small electric Mercedes-Benz, the first of more than 10 EVs it plans by 2022 to go up against U.S. rival Tesla and its Model 3.
Hambach is where all-electric cars for the Smart brand are produced. "The Smart plant in Hambach will become a part of our global compact car production network with the lead plant in Rastatt, Germany," Mercedes-Benz production chief Markus Schaefer said in a statement on Friday.
Mercedes is adapting its vehicle underpinnings so that it can mass produce electric variants on the same production line as equivalent volume models with gasoline, hybrid or diesel engines, allowing the German carmaker to scale up production quickly if demand spikes, a spokesman for Daimler said.
Mercedes currently makes its compact A-class, B-class and GLA models at plants in Rastatt, Germany, Kecskemét, Hungary, Beijing and in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and made 620,000 compact vehicles last year.

BMW CEO Harald Krüger confirmed at the company’s Annual General Meeting this week when we will see the next-generation X5. As we suspected, the midsize SUV will debut later this year.
Although Krüger didn’t give a specific launch date, we knew the model was coming soon based on prototypes we’ve seen. From past spy shots, we expect the new BMW X5 will feature a larger double kidney grille as well as updated headlights and taillights. Inside the cabin, expect a new arrangement of the center stack and a shorter gear stalk. We also spotted a prototype for the X5 M with quad-tip tailpipes, although this model will likely arrive after the standard X5.

BMW has been updating many models in its X lineup. It just released the X2 and the new X3, and the second-generation X4 is on its way this summer. Toward the end of the year, the new X7 will enter production. In all, BMW says to expect 20 new or revised models to be released this year.

I love the time of the week I get to spend talking about cars on Nightline, the flagship late night show on DubaiEye.

www.motoringme.com is the site you want to head to to get the pulse of what is going on in the world of automobiles in the UAE. @motoringme_ is the hashtag you want to dial in.

So, this week we had a grand old chat.

And we started talking about the Toyota RUSH!

Of course there are many interesting questions in the show, below is what we set out to talk about.

In the Mercedes-AMG GT line, most body styles feature three or more levels of sportiness. The coupe is available in GT, GT S, GT C and GT R, and the sedan is available in 53 GT, 63 GT, and 63 GT S. But the roadster has been left out with just GT and GT C variants. That changes this year with the new GT S Roadster, which splits the difference quite evenly between the two drop-top sports cars.

Actually, in regards to horsepower, the GT S Roadster's almost perfectly in the middle. Its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 makes 515 horsepower, which is 46 more than the GT, and 35 less than the GT C. Torque is much closer to the GT C, though, at 494 pound-feet. That's just 8 shy of the higher-end sibling. Power still goes through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission to the rear wheels. In the 0-60 mph sprint, Mercedes claims a time of 3.7 seconds, just one tenth off of the GT C.

We have reached peak SUV. Behold the 2019 Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the most expensive and most lavishly appointed off-road-capable vehicle ever built. That’s right. The Cullinan is no louche boulevardier: Press the button on the center console labeled Off-Road, and the big Rolls will lift its skirts and ready itself for rough tracks, gravel, wet grass, mud, snow, sand, and water up to 21 inches deep. But it will also do 155 mph on the autobahn. And all the time those inside will be riding in the lap of luxury.
