
TEDxDubaiWomen will be taking place at Zayed University on Wednesday the 8th of December, yes that is where I spend my days.
Following on TEDxDubai, TEDxDubaiWomen will take place on the 8th starting at 3pm.
6 live speakers will kick off the program, there will be a short break, and then the program picks up with a live video link to TEDWomen in Washington DC.

- Ms. Butheina Kazim
Butheina Kazim is the producer of the independent documentary film Letters to Palestine, which has screened across Palestine and is currently working on a series forAl Jazeera Documentary Channel. She was a juror for the iEmmys Asia & Africa competition and was the curator for an independent films program at the Shelter in Dubai. -
- Ms. Huda Kattan
Huda Kattan is a Hollywood trained makeup artist and beauty consultant based in Dubai. Huda has been very fortunate to have worked with some of the most talented photographers and some seriously incredible people. And there is the beauty blog! This blog is a way to keep people informed of not only the trends and news, but also what’s going on with the industry first-hand in Dubai and all over the world. Huda feels that the up-close-and-personal approach offers an extra level of exposé to the industry. -
- Ms. Amna Abulhoul
Amna Abdulla Abulhoul, is an animator and an architect (degree anticipated may 2012). I graduated from Zayed University and I am currently continuing my education at the American University in Dubai. -
- Ms. Basma Al Fahim
Basma Al Fahim is the founder and managing director of Eventra. Basma is a certified wedding planner and an expert marketer. Basma's forte is creating unique events that combine the east with the west and those special touches from the UAE. From the idea to action Basma has the how to guide. -
- Mrs. Tarifa Ajaif
Tarifa has over 10 years experience working with youth in Higher Education. Her passion to youth development, coaching and mentoring was driven by her self-motivation, determination and faith in Emirati youth potentials and capabilities. She has recently started “Go Glocal” –Inspiring People consultancy that aims to inspire individuals to think globally and act locally through using LEGO Serious Play Methodology. -
- Mrs. Maryam Darwish
How to break the gender stereotype! Mariam is one of the leading service advisers at Al Futtaim Motors' Lexus service centre in Dubai, where on a normal day she works on about 40 cars. Things are not always as they seem.
What makes this event even more special is it is being run by Emirati women for the most part, very cool.
