It is that time of the week when we, Andrew Thomas of Nexa sit down and take a look at what is and is not going on in the tech world!

We kicked off the show with a nice review of Battlefield Hardline. If you are a gamer you are going to want to look at the new version of Battlefield Hardline.

For as long as I can remember Andrew has been all over the utility of a small screen and how a big screen is for old guys! Seem something has changed. Andrew is now singing the utility of a big screen.

Microsoft Edge Browser!

The new Windows 10 browser will be called Edge, and it comes with one unusual feature — Edge can use Chrome and Firefox extensions.
This browser is a big redesign for Microsoft, which has relied on iterative changes to Internet Explorer all these years. The code name was Spartan, and that should give you a clue as to the approach being taken. Edge is designed to be slim and fast. It drops support for legacy technologies like ActiveX and browser helper objects. It runs on a new rendering engine called EdgeHTML, which is a fork of Microsoft’s IE engine known as Trident. Edge will include deep integration with services like One Drive and Cortana as well.

Microsoft’s solution to this is allowing users to install extensions designed for both Firefox and Chrome. You won’t just be able to install the Chrome or Firefox version of a plugin, but Edge will understand the extension if it’s tweaked a little. Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore says the popular Reddit Enhancement Suite add-on was ported to Edge with virtually zero work. It’s similar to Microsoft building support for Android and iOS apps into Windows 10.

Yahoo’s Brightroll!

Yahoo’s BrightRoll, a programmatic video ad platform, on Thursday announced a new suite of tools that is intended to help its clients better measure mobile video ad campaigns.
“Mobile advertising has experienced impressive growth, but the majority of marketers are still uncertain about how to execute and verify the effectiveness of their mobile video campaigns,” stated Tod Sacerdoti, CEO and founder, BrightRoll.
“Mobile has always been an important area of focus for us, and we are doubling-down on our efforts to give advertisers the ability to measure performance across the breadth of devices to better understand their target audiences and effectively spend marketing dollars,” he added.
Included in the new tools is the integration of Nielsen Digital Ad Ratings (formerly Nielsen OCRs) across its platform. BrightRoll is also updating its mobile video platform to include MRAID Video support -- a new industry standard via the IAB. MRAID Video allows in-app interactive video ads to be traded.
Additionally, Yahoo is placing it’s App Publishing in-app inventory on the BrightRoll marketplace. The company claims this adds inventory from over 10,000 apps to the marketplace.

Vevo to help create branded content!


    Vevo will work with brands to craft campaigns that could leverage its breakout stars, some of whose careers it helped launch. In fact, Vevo's NewFronts presentation will feature some of that talent—Tori Kelly, Halsey and Magic are performing.
    "We're very fired up about it," Carson said, referring to today's show. "We have what we think is a pretty special theme and message to deliver. And what we're trying to accomplish is to give all attendees the super-fan experience."
    Vevo says its music videos get 11 billion monthly views and that it's the No. 1 YouTube partner. Its content is seen across the Internet. Aside from music videos, Vevo also has original shows focused on the industry, concerts and new stars.
