CarTalk May 4, 2015

Time to talk cars with the boys from Motoring Middle East!

This week it is all about the state of mind you are put into when you get behind the wheel.

And then there is just getting behind the wheel! I spoke about the Audi experience we didn't have at the tennis extravaganza, maybe Trevor will sort us out!

What you won't be able to get over is the love that the boys have for Lotus! I don't remember the last time I heard the boys talk like this about a car!

Here is the podcast!

Of course we always suggest you follow along with the SMS messages as we go through them in the podcast!

i got a jeep wrangler and driving it like a gokart :p

Hey guys. After listening to the show last week I decided to research the new mustang a bit. Never being a mustang fan before but I liked the idea of the 4 cylinder turbo with 300 HP and also some of the things you guys were saying.but what is up with the prices here? How does 25000 USD get marked up to 160 some odd thousand dirhams? Dont get me wrong the v8 is competitive but not the everyman base model. No thanks ford I'll take that challenger on sale for 95000 dirhams. Its a shame too we want driver cars like  in this market but can we leave the markup out of it?

im not sure is it my wrangler or it has a really bad traction control?

slips even with light throttle application especially on non tarmac roads?

Alfa Romeo 3 series!
Alfa Romeo has high hopes for its upcoming Giulia sedan. Primarily aimed at the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4, the Giulia will be Alfa’s first compact sedan in several years and its first rear-wheel drive sedan in over two decades.
Since the Giulia has a lot to live up to, Alfa is leaving nothing to chance and a new report indicates it will inaugurate several brand new engines that will eventually power other members of the company’s lineup.
The headline-grabber will be a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine fed with two turbochargers, a smaller one that spools up at low rpm and a bigger one that kicks in at higher engine speeds. Fitted with direct injection and variable valve timing, the turbo four will make 300 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 295 foot-pounds of torque at 3,800 rpm in its most powerful configuration.
