On 1st December 2009 I became 50 years old and wanted to mark this year of being 50 with a trek for charity.

I happened to buy the Health and Fitness magazine that announced the trek to Machu Picchu in October 2010. It is somewhere I've always wanted to go and I wanted to raise money for the chosen charity of Breast Cancer Research. I have been lucky to not have any close relatives or friends that have been affected by breast cancer but I have read many stories and the statistics are frightening. I feel that the money raised will help future women avoid or fight this terrible disease.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please dig deep and donate now. January 2010 I am working on a series of money raising events at the school where I work. I plan to run a lucky ticket draw in February so am collecting prizes at the moment.
Donna from school is going to help me run a Car Boot Sale on Friday 19th February we're hopeful that a lot of people are keen to sell stuff- should be good!
